Soon to order a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB

Thread Starter
And I realized that there's 2 different versions in the store I buy from:

http://www4.hardwareversand.de/artic...28152&agid=689
http://www4.hardwareversand.de/artic...43088&agid=689

What's the main difference from them except for the price?

I'll be using the HDD mainly for storage (Blu-Ray movies, music, documents... etc)

Thanks in advance!
Kevin.

It looks like the second link is the F3R and the first one is the original F3.
Then I found this.

Some google-ing:

After reading your post I connect the call to my one of the friend and as per his recommendation I would like to tell you that, the Samsung F3R HE10SJ is the novel RAID edition, therefore the "R" added to F3...

...It is Samsung's "Enterprise Level Drive" and it has approach with a five year warranty measure up to the HD's three year. The other dissimilarity is approximately negligible: HD is faintly more fairly at idle and presentation seeks. At about 0.2 Bel. It draws about .1 Watt fewer during nearly all operations...

Thanks a lot mate, what would I do without your help...

I guess I'll go for the cheaper one, I don't plan to RAID it with another one

You might want to consider the F4 2TB if it is just a storage drive. I think they are around 70-80 USD depending on random deals and discounts.

That one?

Will it be fast enough to reproduce .mkv files? (Blu-ray movies)

Thank you.

No. That's their EcoGreen series.
Samsung Spinpoint F4 is what he is talking about.
The EcoGreen series is like the Caviar Green from WD.
The low powered HDD.

They don't have the Spinpoint F4 on that website.

I think I'll just go with the F3 1TB, I don't need more space

Thanks again! I really appreciate it
