Thats good, give it a couple days and you wont even worry about it. Im not worried about my chance I had at a 580, trust me I was totally sold on it too. But at the end of the day its hard to tell the difference between 120fps and 100fps on a 60hz monitor.

just get some new games, get an mmo, imho it will keep you busy and interested, also by the time you get that itch, there will always be another expansion, or something..... i swear gaming is definitely the best solution, i got borderlands(for my ps3, my build is STILL pending) and that is definitely keeping me occupied

Dude, I totally hear ya. In fact this rig I've got now has been the same since August of last year, and even though I'm still 100% happy w/the performance, I still get 'the itch' to upgrade every week or so. And this 8 month span of using the same MB/Chip/memory/GPU combo is BY FAR the longest I've gone without an upgrade in many, many years.

Of course it 'helps' that my fiance hasn't been making any money for the past year so now I have to pay ALL the bills for both of us .. but that's another story. I stilll COULD upgrade if I really wanted to.

But here's my point: I think it really helps 'calm the itch' when you get yourself something that's really unique. In my present case, that is the 2x465 Limited Golden Edition cards. The copper coolers look SUPER cool, and they have the limited edition 'numbering' stamped onto the side ... plus of course they're 465's that unlock to full 470's.

I'm finding it's been a lot easier than usual to not replace/upgrade these cards simply because there's nothing else out there that has the same uniqueness/coolness factor.

I've found that if I buy the average run-o-the-mill reference EVGA (or whoever) cards that have no uniqueness and are basically identical to what everyone and their brother already has, it ends up being really easy to part ways with them.

So while I admit that there's cards out there that I'd LIKE to upgrade to for various reasons (I'm a little intrigued ATM with the idea of getting 2x560 2GB cards, or getting a couple of 6950's to unlock ) when I ponder the idea of parting with the 'special' cards I have in order to get one of these other (pretty generic) setups ... I am quickly dissuaded from doing so.

Moral: wait if necessary, and try to make your next purchase something that's in some way 'unique' and 'special' ... something that you can get yourself attached to because it feels in some way irreplaceable.

Thats kinda how I feel about the DC II, I mean that card is just something out of this world sexy, That backplate, the whole card for that matter will look so good in my setup. Or in a potential tech bench future.

Also, Pulled a 570 out tonight, played BC2.. Forgot how beast just one of these cards are,, I think I will be very happy with the 580.. I think Im going to get it.

I voted but never really got a chance to read through and comment. For what it's worth, my head made me click and vote for you to keep your cards, but my heart is still telling you to go with the 580.

And I think the quote above summarizes the angst that I go through all of the time as well.

Lately, in the past four months, I have been doing small and large upgrades from every few days to about every couple of weeks. A large part of me is really trying to strive what brett said perfectly about making my computer unique. Every time I browse these forums, I see people who have virtually the same hardware as me, and for whatever reason, it just always looks better on their end even though our differences are so small!

But the worst part about it is that I want my rig to excel at EVERYTHING while looking great, aesthetically, all at the same time, which just isn't possible without going broke. As good as it looks now, there's still so much more that I want to do, and possibly so much more that I can do that I don't even know about yet! It really is a self-perpetuating disease and takes a crap ton of self-control to keep at bay.

I will say this though; my latest idea for a project is to actually do some custom sleeving for the first time in an attempt to really make this rig truly "my own". Unfortunately, the options I am looking at will be pretty costly in and of itself, but I have a feeling that once it's done, I'll have a bigger sense of satisfaction/completion and feel less itchiness overall.

So just as an idea, maybe doing some custom mods can also help you stave off the upgrade-itis - at least for the time being.

Going from 2x GTX 570 SLI to a GTX 580, is a pretty big performance downgrade.
