That was exactly my response too. When I sold one my of 570s and played BC2, I was amazed at how much FPS I was pulling out of just one card. It was running about 90-110FPS give or take with 4X AA all maxed out on DX11.
I'm already sold on my path of going to a 580, I just want to test out 3D tomorrow (Package coming tomorrow for 3D Vision. Woot) before putting my card up for step up.

People forget about the SLI tax, too. That cuts the "real" performance FPS of a SLI config by about 20%.

Obviously a 570 SLI config is still faster than single 580 though.

Hmm... I noticed a HUGE performance hit when I tried running a single GTX 570. Now, I am running at 2560x1440 res on my monitor, so maybe that is the difference, but I couldn't imagine a single 580 running as well as dual 570s.

Even running dual monitors, the VRAM might pull you down a bit, but the benefit of dual GPUs will probably still have the 570s out performing the 580.

The only way I would get rid of my GTX 570 would be to get a 3GB GTX 580, with a newer phase design. And even then I wouldn't need it.

The most I am going to do is 1600P gaming and I know SLi GTX 570's will handle it fine.
Plus from personal and previous experience with dual GPU setups, its nice to just use one GPU for easy gamse like the source games, bioshock etc and not need to pump all that juice for simple things.

It's amazing what my GF-110 is doing by itself.
1600P oughta make'er work! hehe.
