[Steam] Fails to validate game CD

Thread Starter
I have been having problems with Fallout:New Vegas ans have found no fixes for it anywhare and Bethesta wont respond or help. I havent even seen anyone else with this problem. After loading you can hear all the sounds, walk around, all the usual but one major problem...the loading screen doesnt dissapear. It just sits there and never goes away. It never did this until after 18 hours of gameplay.

I tryed to validate the game on steam but it failed.
Checked my graphics drivers and NV patches and found they were up to date.

So I tryed to reinstall the game using my cd and steam says it fails to validate it. Why would this happen when it's a retail disc?

Are the Fallout:NV discs obsolete now or what? Maybe this is the problem I was having since I used the CD to install the game in the first place.

Hopefully after 7 hours of downloading it will finally fix itself.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Wait, I had this issue too. Patch the game up. I had to download a third party mod for this

Try downloading it from steam instead of reinstalling it.

A reinstall will most likely fix your problem.

I just finished installing Fallout:NV from steam instead of the disc this time but it still fails to varify the integrity of the game. Then it says in a small box in the corner that it finished downloading something for fallout:nv but it didnt do anyhing. It still fails to varify and i dont know what to do. I just want to play without massive errors like this.
