DTX case... will it fit a Mini ITX board?

Thread Starter
The smallest I have used to be the shell of a prebuilt Acer X1300 SFF. My friend gave it to me when he upgraded to a bigger case to accomodate a video card. Now that his upgrade plans suddenly cancelled (I was going to buy from him the matching DTX mobo & processor that he still used) I'm left without a use for this intricately small case. I know it'll definitely fit DTX, but will it fit Mini ITX, or Mini DTX? Are such form factors directly compatible i.e. screw positioning? I know a few cases that supported ATX, mATX, DTX, etc. but not Mini ITX apparently. If it supports Mini ITX, finding a mini ITX board would be easy and this could be actually used. If not, finding a DTX board would be significantly harder.

Mini itx is just relabeled dtx
Quote:
Like many of AMD’s initiatives, its DTX announcements fell upon seemingly deaf ears in the mass market, and the few case manufacturers who paid attention quickly discovered that few of their customers ever knew what DTX was (to be fair, Intel similarly stumbled on its own BTX initiative, which was conceptualized to deal with the out-of-control thermal issues encountered by its Pentium 4). These cases were quickly relabeled ITX. After that, they sold in fairly large numbers. Fortunately, these cases have not gone away.

It is not. Their mounting bolts may be the same but DTX allows for two slots. A DTX motherboard will not fit in a purely mini ITX case (but will dual slot cases like Lian Li PC-Q08 or Silverstone SG05) but a mini ITX motherboard should fit DTX cases. As long as the Acer system wasn't proprietary in any way.
