Side panel intake/exhaust? - Page 3

Speaking as someone who has roughly the same build as you, unless your ambients are really high, you don't need that many fans. Partly because the airflow in the CM isn't the best but also because most of the parts don't need it. I'm a bit of a noise freak though.

For now I have the front 140 running (and it does almost nothing as the HD cage blocks most of the airflow to the rest of the case, but I don't want to be bothered removing it) intake, the H50 running intake (only because I'm too lazy to get a shroud for the push fan), and 2 top 140s pushing air out. The side fans did little to nothing to help temperatures on any of the video cards I've run in my case thus far, and the air from the bottom intakes were mostly worthless as well due to PSU cables. The only one I haven't tried that might be of some help would be to mount a fan on the back of the HD cage to help pull the fresh air from the front into the main area of the case, to be sucked up by the GPU fan. The rest is just useless noise additions.

Also something, you should cover any intakes that aren't using the pre-provided fans grills. My room might be extra dusty or something, but after only a month or two of use, I could already wipe off a fingertip of dust from components inside my case. It's worth the hassle to keep your stuff from getting too dusty in my opinion.

Should I replace ALL my fans with the AP15? tongue.gif that's... two for h50, two top, 1 bottom. Side I'm going to put an LED fan for looks smile.gif Front's going to stay 140mm LED.

Do I really need the two exhaust on top as AP15? Wouldn't I be better off with the AP15 being intake somewhere else?
Run the H50 as exhaust, you are recycling heat.

Side panel intake, for GPU's.

Front intake and Top exhaust.

If you end up with positive pressure, fine, it'll be a dustless (or less dust) system.

AP-15s are not necessary nor necessarily even that useful as case fans, especially in the CM690 which has the top and front panels sized for 140mm fans. 140mms can push more air at lower dB and without having to spend $20 per fan.

AP15s are definitely one of the top static pressure to dB fans, so if you have extra cash lying around, there's no harm in the cool factor of having all GTs I guess. But if I were in your place, and since I have your setup I kind of am, I'd just get 2 AP15s for the radiator and grab some 140s for the other slots. Maybe one more GT for the bottom I guess since it's a 120 size bracket and it's filtered.

Wow, do I even need the AP15 for any fans other than the h50's push/pull? >_<</div>

What kind of fans do you have now?

Well, I have the stock cm690 fans, then I put in some 120mm Raidmax fans from my other computer. What brand 140mm should I get? I might just go in NCIX and pick up some random one. tongue.gif

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?minorcatid=1164

Might just go for 2x AP15 for radiator. So I should put two 120mm on the bottom? smile.gif and one 140mm side, and two 140mm on the top? I get better temps for now with intake h50, and I have no clue what a shroud is tongue.gif

turn the h50 around (out) and make both the side fans intakes.
