Antec Truepower TP-650W Good?

Thread Starter
I'm planning to run 2500k oc'ed at around 4.5Ghz, 1gb 6950, 8gb ram, etc etc

Maybe SLI in the future, just maybe, but probably not...

Do you think the Antec True Power Tp-650W is sufficient? I've heard here and there that its a great PSU and that its good however i want some extra clarification.

Also i found a great deal, courtesy of another Overclock.net member who posted this deal..

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=36263&vpn=TP-650&manufacture=Antec&promoid=1320

Also i saw this rating on johnnyguru which seems promising.
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=140

I just want some extra clarification from people who have the PSU, and do you think that it will be sufficient for my build. As of what i heard its plenty and even for crossfire...

Thanks for the help...biggrin.gif

That unit will do the job guaranteed..it may even handle SLI 6950, but we can deal with that prospect later on.

Yeah,

The Antec truepower new's are really nice PSU's. It'll suit you down to the ground.

Also, you'll be able to SLi on it but i'd be wary doing SLi 580's, any ATI card would be epic on it in xfire biggrin.gif

Should run that setup with ease IMO. Even for xfire.

It'll run no problem, and it should be just enough for SLI/CrossfireX...
Anctec Truepower are pretty popular so I expect them to be good quality ;D

It'd be fine for pretty much anything up to xifre 6950's and SLi GTX570's.

/thread.

It'll be fine and like others said, will be enough for xfire as well.

I had a TP-650 New in my rig before I added the 850W supply I have now.

It ran my processor and 460s in SLI overclocked and it ran my processor and 560s in SLI @ stock clocks.

Never had a problem with it. Voltages were solid and it was quiet and didn't get hot in use.

Not good; great. The best PSU for under $100. It will be able to handle a Radeon HD 6950 CF easily along with the OCed 2500K. Go for it, it's a great unit.
