Best L Desk for the money?

post #1 of 8
Thread Starter
Im buying a new desk and so far I've found this one -

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=L+desk&hl=en&biw=1920&bih=979&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=7912593574266398472&sa=X&ei=u6ezTYvKKY3QiAK6o_SvBg&ved=0CIUBEPMCMAA#

I want it to be an L desk, and would like it to be under $150, if you know of a better one let me know. Also if you have a different desk you like let me know.

I've always been a fan of ikea's desks (I know most of their furniture is known for not being the highest quality, but in the range you are looking I think it would be more than adequate.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S39835924

I also was considering buying this glass L desk ($99 on Amazon) recently, but decided to go with 2 square desks based on my room's layout.
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/L-Shaped-Glass-Computer-Desk-Clear/dp/B002QWCKQC/ref=pd_sbs_hg_3"]Amazon.com: L-Shaped Glass Computer Desk - Clear/ Black: Home & Garden[/ame]

For $150 this black glass one also looks pretty slick
[ame="http://www.amazon.com/Walker-Edison-L-Shaped-Glass-Computer/dp/B002WRGE5O/ref=pd_sbs_hg_1"]Amazon.com: Walker Edison L-Shaped Glass Computer Desk, Black/Black: Home & Garden[/ame]

Another one with wooden look:
http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=l+desk&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&biw=939&bih=923&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=8211070528231823417&sa=X&ei=1cazTfqzKYThiALhzNmvBg&ved=0CHUQ8wIwADgU#

The reason I prefer the Ikea over the others is that I like a desk where there is not a lot going on beneath. And it's hard to beat the slick look of just having 5 straigh legs without crossbars and whatnot.

If you have the tools, you can build one. thumbsupsmiley.png

Agree with Bassdoken, the best L desk is the one you make. I made one myself. My dad's a carpenter, though, and a lot of the knowledge rubbed off and access to his tools helped as well.

If you've got the means, though, why not get everything you want (probably for much less, too)?

I would much rather make my own desk, but the problem is I dont have any of the necessary tools to build my own.

I got one from office Max or depot. $80, glass, very stable. Had it for a couple months now...gets dirty fast!

Very good desk.
