2 D5 pumps + Koolance 452x2 (pump setting)

Thread Starter
Hey guys I'm setting up my loop running a 360 + 120 rads for now. In the future ill run two 360s when I jump up to SLI. I was just wondering what I should set my Swiftech MCP655 D5 pumps at? I hear a lot of guys are setting a single pump on level 5 and have no problems but I don't know what level to set them when running series in the Koolance 452x2 res. Any help would be great.

Doh, thoght the others were a pump.

Anyways, i would play with settings. look @ temps.
Mite get 5 degs C difference don't know till you try, I like higher flow rates 4 or 5 setting. the non variable speed is 4. i say 4.

You'll have to experiment for yourself, but I liked setting 3 myself. Plenty of power with two, that you can dial them down for more silence without hurting flow much.

Noise is always too subjective to guess what people will like though. Some are happy with 2000rpm fans at full speed while other complain about 800....depends on the user, but the bay reservoirs are a bit more touchy with noise...depends on the case too and worth some experimenting to tune noise to your liking.

I doubt you will get much benefit from having them both set higher than 2 or 3.

I've got the DDC pump version of that res with swiftech MCP35x pumps on it, so I've got a bit more head pressure to work with.
I get absolutely no difference in 100% loaded CPU or core temperatures between having the pumps on 50% or 100%, and there is very little difference between 30% and 50%.
My GPU temps scale a little more with flow, but it is still only about a 3ºC difference between the pumps running at 40% and 100% with FurMark running on extreme burn-in.
