I've just bought a new machine with an i7 2600k with asrock fatality board etc.and 570 SLI. my cousin who has a 6970 CF suddenly offered me to straight swap my cards to his and he just bought it for a couple of months as well. he said he wanted to try nvidia. after reading about 570's frying I'm really considering the trade. should I do it or not?

I tend to like nvidia drivers better, but both setups should perform about equal, swaying towards the 6970's if you overclock. But make sure you get yourself some aftermarket cooling for those bad boys! Leaving them with stock cooling is a dishonourable!

Its an almost equal trade, if you feel like switching to amd go for it, but like the previous posters have said your not gonna see much of a performance increase either way.
