What Nvidia Video card will bottleneck a Phenom II X4 840? - Page 3

I would choose AMD GPU-s ,they may behave better with an AMD CPU.

Because parrots parrot. They don't need truth. They don't need understanding they just need repetition. They are over in the battlefiled bad company 2 spouting the same thing because the game is so crappy that it crashes up the driver and reverts to software rasterizers.

Same as all the trolls who trolled up the big huge great demand for cpu from gta iv which was subsequently fixed with dozens of patches and driver updates though it still needs tons of work.

If they used linux they'd be on linux chat boards telling everybody to get bigger cpu's because the gallium stack doesn't know how work their hardware right and reverts back to software rasterizers and gives you 100 percent cpu usage and everybody would be giving them massive amounts of ***?

Unfortunately all these new cards will eventually get their drivers worked out enough and windows will get it's dx fixed enough that it won't crash dozens of cards into software rasterizers. They can't do it with AMD video cards because AMD is just doing simple refreshes and not hosing drivers. But nvidia is doing plenty of hosing right now.

It's a collective conciousness phenomenon that expresses itself as a collectivism. They follow intution and guidance and they become like a hive mind but they are being manipulated by it all just by being sympathetic and non-suspicious of it. Once the collectivism is glued together you can make them "right" or so secure in the parroting and overwhelming verification from nothingness that they don't even ask for more information or garner people who resist the collectivism because it's too much hassle. The resistance to it disrupts the collectivism and makes it seek answers to defend it's position and grows them out of the collectivism.

Battlefield bad company 2 release date was march 2nd. It's big giant bag of feces. So the bugs in it cause all kinds of problems with people running it. They look for answers. The answer is that it's a big giant feces bag of bad code. It'll eventually get fixed and won't cause all these problems in another 6 months and run really good on a 2ghz dual core and good on any quad.

But in the mean time people need help and are suggestible. So the collective likes the power rush of being a collective pretending they are actually helping and fixing something. So the run around memeing the needs moar cpu final solution. They aren't working together and aren't conciously plotting this behavior. It just flows through them because they are insecure and like the apparent collectivism of becoming ego extensions of each other and knowing they have so much agreement and support from each other.

Not. Besides if the OP says he specificly wants a nVidia GPU so be it. From AMD I would say 6850 or 6870 but I wont as the guy wants nVidia. But there is no difference between nVidia or AMD GPU on AMD based setup, period.

I agree with the fact that BF BC2 is somehow of a failure for a PC game.

IT IS A CONSOLE PORT , like others you enumerated.
Players that know what a PC game is ,smell the consolistic smell of BF BC2 quick.

They ve made all kinds of patches ,but it s not a true modern PC game and patches were not able to fix the game and never will as the code is "converted" for x86.
Also the game does not know x64 so in a x64 OS it will be slower.

The newer Catalyst series brought a big FPS increase in my case on the same CPU for this game.

The CPU can be unloaded by some of the stress by using a dedicated sound card and a Intel network card.

My opinion is that a quad core should be able to sustein a 90+ FPS count just fine in BF BC2.

I have seen in the past tests of ATI and Nvidia cards form the same performance area and Nvidia does tend to require more CPU power. This test were made in some local magazine some time ago.

But this doesn't have anything to do with the CPU being AMD. I understood you meant nVidia wouldn't work well on AMD setups while the truth is it works just as good on AMD/Intel setups. But this was all a misunderstanding.

Dunno about the CPU power thing..

BFBC2 runs flawlessly on my PC.

Flawlessly.

Its also one of the FEW games AMD cpus are capable of actually fully pushing a GTX 580, one of the FEW.

No here we don't go again.

I wouldn't believe anything you say to be honest.

You'd have to post usage charts, which you won't do.

No ,i don t have to post anything as any user with similar configuration knows what i m talking about.
Go on the Intel area and post your graphs or whatever.

Phenom II X4 840 is a good performer and is at least at a X3 720 BE level as some hardware site tested it.Use Google if you want graphs or whatever about this CPU and BF BC 2.It runs any game you throw at it at stock.

BFBC2 performs just fine on my 1090T even when it's at factory stock speeds.

Indeed they do,I had to reinstall windows just to get the AMD drivers off the HDD so it would recognize my Nvidia card.
Then I had to install the Nvidia drivers first,so the rest of the Gigabyte and AMD drivers wouldn't conflict with the graphics driver install. Such a hassle,I'm even having thoughts of returning it for a AMD card.
If I had the extra to spend,I would've bought a HD6950 non-reference card instead. Everyone's been saying that AMD cards have better video quality, and better audio quality through the HDMI output.
