What Nvidia Video card will bottleneck a Phenom II X4 840? - Page 7

Yes. I am comparing a GeForce GTX 460 with a GeForce GTX 560 Ti.

bottleneck that cpu??? what? are you serious? The only way your going to bottleneck with that CPU is if your playing a game that is extremely CPU reliant and probably doesnt exist yet AND is poorly optimized.

I used to run the SAME video card I run now on a single core AMD 3800+, that CPU bottlenecked the heck out of my 4870, but games that were more GPU dependent ran FINE.

OP buy the best card you can afford period. Even if your CPU "bottlenecks" at all it could still be transferred over to your next pc build.

The only thing you should worry about is what your power supply can handle.

Been there I had a X2 3800+ @ 2,5GHz and a 8800GT. Whenever I tried overclocking the 8800GT I got worse framerates than at stock clocks. Bought 720BE and boom, significant change

And you're at overclock.net trying to make a point with stock benchmarks.

Just sayin.

Also the 4870 isn't exactly "powerful" and would bottleneck on his cpu.

Well the 560Ti overclocks as well, doesnt it?
Yes, but generally only to around 1GHz, sometimes less.

Whereas the 460 is going to hit at least 800, sometimes 950 or more.

The claim was that a GeForce GTX 560 Ti was barely faster than a GeForce GTX 460, not that a GF104 at the same clocks as a GF114 were smaller in difference.

Besides, I was replying to something that someone else said. I wasn't so much as trying to further a point myself.
