Alot of people thought that single rail was better then multi-rail, because they bought the advertising hype that surrounded it.
Truth is Single-rail is easier and cheaper to manufacturer, single rail PSU's do not have Over Current Protection (OCP) OCP, in the event of a short circuit (Which happens, alot) immediately shuts off the power supply and saves any components in the process.
Single Rail PSU's do NOT have this protection, so in the event of a short, you got yourself a nice fire on your hands.
My system has been shorted many times, and due to OCP, i've never had to deal with a fire or dead components.

Although it's from Antec so you could say it's biased, it's all true. I suggest you look into it some more.Edited by Thingamajig - 4/24/11 at 6:47am
