2.1 speakers to pair with Asus Sonar Essence STX - Page 2

The subwoofer no longer has an on/off switch and there are control pod issues. I have replaced the control pod on mine in less than a year of use. They have sat on my desk unmoved the whole time and then the control pod became unresponsive.

I also had a problem where only "half" of the speakers were outputting sound and Klipsch sent me a new backplate and internal components for the sub. The new backplate fit perfectly but it was lacking the on/off switch my old one had. Definitely a step backwards for this company.

I can't find the promedia in the UK. best buy US has them but not best buy UK. Can't even find used units on ebay/google shopping.

I know how the promedia performs, saw them during one of my holidays. But I really don't think I can obtain them here in the UK.

Aego M seems to be my top choice but I hear it lacks bass?

you can try Swan M10s they might have it in the UK

or get AV-40's now this isnt a 2.1 system but you can alter add a woofer to the setup.
oh! if you stretch your budget a little you can get a pair of Audioengine A5s!
Pro Media, Swan M10, or NHT Superzero 2.0. The STX should have enough to drive the Superzeros. Oh yeah, also the AudioEngine A2 and A5.

I love my ProMedia2.1's, but i feel like the sub is underpowered or something. Trying to crank the bass knob past 10 o'clock results in the sub peaking whenever there's a bass note.

Good luck.

I wanted to buy the Promedia too but can find them anywhere here in France either, not even on ebay, been considering the Corsair SP2500 kit but it seems exppensive for PC speakers.
