CORSAIR XMS3 1333 overclock

Thread Starter
hi,
I was just thinking of tinkering with my CORSAIR XMS3 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 ram.
Its a single stick 2gb.

is it better to go with a higher frequency or lower timing?
whats the max voltage for these

thanks!

I don't recommend you go straight to anything, likely it won't end up working. Only if you knew ICs or someone already played with the kit at those settings before, should you ever go straight to certain settings.

Go slowly. You could try increasing speed to 1600Mhz; if you lower timings, do it as so: 9-9-9, 8-9-8, 8-8-8 (7-9-7 if 8-8-8 unstable), 7-8-7, etc. and the latter two numbers (24 & 40 in 9-9-9-24-40) lower them later, first of those two numbers (the tRAS) should equal the sum of all the first 3 numbers; the second of those two numbers should equal the sum of the last of the three numbers and the aforementioned tRAS number.

Being a generic 1333 CL9 kit, do not expect to be able to overclock this kit very far, of course
