Hello modders
I'm planing on mod my HAF 922 to a specific design

but I'm so new to painting, i found alot of guides here but i got so confused
and unfortunately in my country there is alot of painting materials i cant find
i only have
sanding papers (80, 100, 120, 150, 220 grit)
matte black spray paint
matte white spray paint
(i couldn't find any brand of spray PRIMER)

Isopropyl
Masking tape

and one thing , should i scuff the surface of the factory paint (black) and then pint on it, or i must use primer

so???
waiting your replies

I think of a Zebra when I look at that case mod. I would like to paint my case also, the interiors any ways.

That stuff is amazing. It really sticks to plastic and when it dries it has a very porous feel making any paint stick extremely well. As far as paint thinner...all you need is a can of Acetone or any other mineral spirits type of stuff and a rag. Dampen the rag and wipe the surfaces. Now, for the metal, I'd advise that you sand off the original paint and prime it with primer specifically made for metal.

scuff all paint and surfaces before painting, you dont need to primer to get a good paint job but a gray matte paint can be a substitute.

A good prep job will be everything.

spray light and i mean light, even if you end up putting on tons of coats , sand between coats and you will eventually get a awesome paint job. If not it would end up some half arse job that you will look back and think it was a waste of time.

use the coarsest grit of sand paper and try and get the case nice and smooth without going to bare metal and move up to the finest grits slowly washing the case with ajax and dish soap. after if you dont have a primer use a flat grey paint and do 3-5 light coats untill it is all even and smooth then paint your main color using 3-5 light coats then seal with a light clear coat. then use thin 1/8in masking tape to tape your design out line then apply the design color but tape it off thick enough to compensate for over spray 2-3 in should be fine. then apply 2 light clear coats.

with the plastic scuff with supper light grit sand paper and apply flat grey and main color in the same fashion as mentioned above. if you can not find a primer always use a flat grey because most flat light grey spray paints are close to that of a flat grey primer. after everything is painted allow it to dry 24 hrs before puting everything in it this will help eliminate scuffs and scratches while assembling.

Use the 220 grit sand all areas to be painted wipe down with alcohol and paint away.
Main thing is make sure it's clean.
For the design work use painters tape to lay out pattern then sand very lightly wipe down with alcohol and spray very light coats at first to prevent paint going under tape.
