Also, I cannot believe how many people in here are so willing to give up their privacy. It's really disturbing.

People are so brainwashed with the idea of "well I'm not doing anything wrong so why does it matter?" Ask the people that lived through Nazi Germany how much privacy matters.

Just because you're not doing anything wrong does not make it right for people to intrude into your life.
People don't accept it... they just don't care. I just don't care what you silly conspiracy people say. I just live my life like any normal person. I go to work, I play with my PC, I see my GF.

I just don't care.

You're more than welcome to get in some silly tin-foil hat frenzy, just leave us normal folk well alone.

Not sure if srs... lol.

And I would hope people would care about freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

With out those things, then you're nothing more then a slave.

No, I don't care. Reason being is that I enjoy my life as it is. I am free to do what I want, I can go where I want, unless someone stands in my way and says "you can't go there", I am free. Some company tracking me makes no difference.

I just don't care. There is so much more to do in life than worry about what others are doing/thinking of you. I am happy, I am a slave to work (every needs money though), but I live life! I play sports, have a GF, have an awesome PC/sound system, got loads of mates who I go out with.

Maybe in the land of the free things are different, but I just don't care because I am free to do what I want. The last thing I am interested in doing is living under some horrible conspirators shell that believes everyone is out to play me. I have everything I want, I am free, I just don't care.

But if you've been at that place at that time for a most common time of the week, they could find out where you often go or even live.

Who could find out where I live?

To be honest, if this info was trickled off to the service provider so that they can build more-inclusive networks, I can't see this as anything but a good thing. Anyone that thinks they retain true privacy in these times of "always plugged in" is delusional.

Also, seeing, like, 4 different news posts on the "zomg, iphone and android OS's log user locations" is more annoying than when OCN was inundated with Crysis 2 threads...

Why do I need the right to trial by jury? I don't plan on getting arrested...

Why do I need the freedom of speech? I don't do political speech...

Why do I need the right to own a gun? I don't plan on shooting anybody...

Why do I need the right to vote? I never like any of the candidates anyways...

This article is fail. Unsolicited movement tracking is a violation of our privacy, period. I don't like it, don't want it, and it pisses me off. Who cares how serious it is. It's an invasion of my privacy. When do we draw the line?

Advertisers have so much personal information out there to the point where we're constantly being surveyed, why can't the government take control of this data flow? Yes, I suppose it's a bit tin-foil-hat of me but that's my personal stance.
They don't need to. All cell phones can be tracked, used as a bug via speakerphone mode, and used as a camera if your phone has one. This can be done even with the cell phone off. These iPhone files really are only for advertising.

I don't like being tracked either, but if it really bothers, you can jailbreak your phone and delete the database file. If your worried about the feds, get a signal blocking pouch for your phone and you will be fed-free!
