I have an aeyou soldering station, I love it - there's a lot of different types of tips and the power is adjustable so it's perfect for precision and still apt for big connections! For the price I am yet to see something on par. Although it's not a common brand they make some great stuff!

Just my 2cents

http://www.pcb-soldering.co.uk/aoyue...g-station.html

Seems I mispelt the name, which probably didn't help, my bad :/

Thats the UK site I got mine from, theres probs distributors elsewhere!

They make a lot of professional equipment, look through the site and you'll see all sorts of stuff, so they're clearly not a cheap 'made in china' product, they're just not that well known

(they make some pricier ones than the linked one, but the extra features are not worth the extra asking price!)

I was trained on an electric iron but I have found the butane powered irons to be very quick in all aspects. If you are working on PCB (printed circuit boards) and are removing and replacing components (does anyone do this any more?) you need to think of a de-solder method. The copper wick material works good but the suction machines are very nice.

Personally I don't think so, but I'm going to be biased aren't I (then again look at all the decent reviews on amazon...)

Also, I prefer the 937 over the 937+, having an actual wheel is so much easier than pushing the buttons to change temps, after all you're never going to need it to be that precise... but again thats my own views

Aoyue seem to be some sort of OEM manufactuer, proof It's the exact same as mine... just under a different brand? Either way, solid products!

I personally use suction, I feel like I have more control and its quicker, but wick is the better value!
