Xeon E5620 or i7 920 on eVGA E758?

Hey guys, I currently have an i7 920 (very good bin) and have a chance to get an E5620 for a good price. Should I switch to the E5620? And also I have a revision 1.0 eVGA E758 and was wondering could I do a westmere soldering fix to get the CPU to work on my board? I have seen one for the E759 and E760 and E762 but none for the E758.

Also how much could I get nowadays for the i7 920?

IMO you'd really have to go to a dual-chip setup to get the most out of the E5620. It's very similar to a 920, just an extra QPI.

Here's a comparison chart for stock clocks.

Oh man I just bought the chip anyways. I really wanted the 32nm chip which results in lower power consumption and heat output. Heat output has always been a huge concern for me.

Well can anyone point me to a westmere mod for my E758 Tri-SLI v.1.0 motherboard? I am pretty proficient at soldering so I am not worried about a hard mod.
