There have already been several news stories saying they will do just that. Actually, they stand to lose a bit of money if the hack is the only option for SLI with an AMD CPU especially if BD is as quick as recent i7 processors.
EDIT: OT, if core gating is necessary for turboCORE 2.0 then that means that is a 900 series chipset only feature. It may seem unimportant to many OCers here, but I can imagine several situations where you could benefit from the free clockspeed for lightly-threaded workloads (games) even if the CPU is overclocked
