955 BE Cool`n`Quiet Problem

Thread Starter
I have a problem with C`n`Q, it works fine with 3700MHz (18,5 x 200) but when I try 3800 or more it doesn`t work at all.
Is it normal? Are there any solutions for this issue?

Yeah, multi higher than 18.5 will disable CnQ.
Use FSB too for OC, if you want CnQ to work

That sucks.
What about Phenom 965 or 970 is it the same or you can go with higher multi than 18.5 and C`n`Q working?

Nope. Just OC the FSB, not that hard. Actually it's piss easy.

OK, I managed to get 4GHz with working Cool`n`Quiet it two ways, both using 1,35V on core.

1) 18.5 multi and 217 FSB, but I had to lower the DRAM freq from to 1446 MHz because on 1736 MHz it was unstable (BSOD on 3dmark and Prime95)
That combination gave me 20960 on 3dMark06

2) I`ve lowered the multi to 17.0 and rised the FSB to 238 and DRAM Freq 1587 MHz, this combo gave me higher 3dMark06 score 21073

What do you think about this, which combination should I use?

I think you should use the one with the lower multiplier, because you can run your RAM higher than way. Lower your HT-link speed as close as 2000 you can, that should improve your score because higher HT frequency usually causes instability and worse performance.

Remember to OC your NB too, because bringing it around 2600 or so would make your system much snappier and faster.

That Vcore is quite good for 4ghz, just run some Prime95 to see if it's stable.

OK than, so combination number 2 plus HT-link around 2100 and NB 2600MHz. That gave me few more points in 3dMark06.
