i7 950 Getting low Physics performance

Comparing to my buddies i7 920 to my 950 and we 3DMark11 test our systems.

Here is my link:

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1085063;jses...RQmrN58VPnDJ6y

Here is his link

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1085089;jses...CQCxA2hxdkZ4eB

You can see the massive difference his 'slower' 920 has over my 950. Is there something wrong with this picture? His actual OC speed is at 3.56ghz.

He uses 6gb of ram. I have 8gb.

I have OC'd my CPU to 3.83ghz before, not able to get that now without crashing but still my physics score was 'only' 7600. His physics score just seems really high.

Is my 950 just a bad 950 or something I am missing here?

You know that you don`t have the same graphic card?
I hope so!
If you look at the result you will see that you graphic score is higher but you physics is lower.
I bet you didn`t disable GPU PhysX.

Oh yeah I know we have different cards, but in the 3Dmark11 the physics is just the CPU test, in which his is significantly higher.

Why do you have 8Gbs of DDR3 on you I7 950? You need to remove the 4th stick. Your board needs to run triple channel with 3 or 6 sticks only.

There is my score with PhysX turned off on the GPU and on the CPU from the Nvidia control panel.

So not really any difference.

My CPU ID shows it running as triple channel?

Not sure about that. I would remove that 4th stick and test it again.

Now I got a 1k jump in the physics test taking that one card out, but it is still 1k less than his 920.

There has to be something still wrong with this picture.

Not sure what else to change. Tweaking bios or driver's maybe. I just know seeing 4 sticks of DDR on your mobo wasn't right.
