Wrong GPU detected by CPU-Z, CPUID HW Monitor, and Kombustor?

I have a strange issue. I removed my borrowed 4870X2, ran driver cleaner to get rid of everything, then installed my 6970. Everything works great, but CPU-Z and HW Monitor still show my graphics card as being a 4870X2. HW monitor reads correct voltages and temps, but has the wrong name. Also, when I run the MSI Kombustor Kmark Benchmark and submit online, it shows up strangely. It shows the Primary Renderer as a 4870X2, but then shows GPU0 as a 6970. Here's a link: http://www.ozone3d.net/msi_kombustor/score_200.php?id=8920

Does anyone know where these programs are pulling their data from? I've done some searches for files with 4870 and I've also searched the registry and I can't figure it out.

I'm not sure what to say, does the card run right? Have you benched it to see that its on par? Its obviously some kind of driver or something. Try booting into safe mode and then accessing cpu-z.

Like I said, I'm not sure what the problem is but you could try putting the 11.4 preview on there to see if it fixes anything.

I'm actually downloading 11.4 right now to test it out.

As far as I can tell, the card runs fine. I've been thinking about totally restaging my machine for a while now. This may push me over the top. I'll post back if I decide to try out 11.4 first. What the hey, if I'm going to restage, no biggie anyway. +rep

I had this bug. Had a 4870 show up despite my 6950 being inside, but GPU-Z and all other programs obviously show number of shaders, clock speeds etc.

Uninstall CCC, then go to Device Manager and manually remove the actual driver from the system. Reboot and reinstall CCC. That should do it. Least that's what I did.

I might try that before I go reinstalling Windows. Thanks. +rep
