A smaller smartphone verizon

Thread Starter
So my question

Is there a smaller smartphone coming out? What i mean by smaller. I actually like to be able to comfortably put my pone in my pocket. My father has the thunderbolt and that bad boy is gigantic. I really don't want to put something that enormous in my pocket.

Any suggestions or upcoming phones that will be smaller, but still offer everything android has to offer.

I would recommend the moto droid, then root and flash a custom rom on it such as cyanogen mod 7. If you don't want to do flashing, you could get the moto droid 2. But I would highly recommend the D1 since it is just as fast as the D2 when you flash it to gingerbread.

Phones these days are just going to have bigger and bigger screens. Maybe this would be good for you.

No and HELL NO. Both of those phones are a POS. I know this for a single solitary fact, the citrus is old outdated hardware, and it is running motoblur which will make you hate the phone.
The droid pro is completely locked down and has no way of being opened up to custom software at all, which will slow down the phone. Plus you have to deal with that stupid little tiny keyboard.

I still say find a used D1 someplace and use that, it is a great phone.

My HTC desire is the right size I think(as well as the desire Z), fits in my pocket just fine and has a lovely screen for the size. And yes, I agree the TB (its a big evo no?) is massive, all the 4.3" and bigger screens are way too big to carry around in your pocket.

Droid Incredible is no longer for sale but Incredible 2 is about to be launched by Verizon so stay tuned.

If you'd been crushing hard on HTC's Incredible, cool that burning desire just a smidgen -- we've got evidence that suggests an imminent release of the Droid Incredible 2. Following its appearance in Verizon's internal system and leaked training docs, Best Buy has begun receiving accessories for the re-purposed Incredible S, ensuring you'll have all the requisite goodies at launch.

The Droid Pro is not a POS. I have used mine for the last 6 months and love it.

Hate to tell ya but you actually sound like you know absolutely nothing about the latest smartphones other than what you read on the internet.

My recommendation, go with what feels best in your hands. Go to a store and actually play with the phones. I see this day in and day out, since I work for VZW as a sales rep. IE Mom comes in to get a phone that her son/daughter told her to get since they love theirs. Mom buys said phone, a week later returns it cause she either can't figure it out, or hates it. Same thing goes in your scenario. Just play with the phones, you will know the model that you like when you play with it.
