Design idea, looking for some feedback

Thread Starter
Hello all,
So I'd like to step into the watercooling realm for the first time. I have an idea for a system I'd like to build and I was hoping to get an answer/feedback on a question I have for this idea/plan. I have a Corsair Obsidian 700d and I've seen a few obsidian systems like rameez25's that use 2 radiators which I'd like to mimic. I'd like to use the 2 radiator design to re-cool water after it flows through the cpu, chipset, and mosfet, before going on to 3 video cards(a planned 2xEVGA 580's + a EVGA 470) Here is a very crude mock plan/layout I've come up with,

So I guess my questions or concerns are is a setup like this wise or even feasible? Are there water pumps that can handle pushing water through 2 rads? Or am I just silly and should make two separate loops. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Im not sure what you mean here but pretty much everyone on here has the same set up res, pump then the rad
post #7 of 9
Order doesn't matter...all that matters is that your res is before your pump, and that your res is higher than your pump.

I'll say it again: make sure the res is higher than your pump

I've tried my system RAD > RES > PUMP and RES > PUMP > RAD and I didn't notice any difference.

What you have to realize is that the water is flowing fast enough that it doesn't matter when it gets cooled. There isn't a large difference in temperatures throughout your loop....it's more of a "solid" in that sense. You just have to cool the system, not individual parts. I hope that makes sense.

Put the pump at the bottom where the CPU is. There are two rubber cutouts there for the tubing. It'll look better, too. Order does not matter.

This actually helps me a lot, I was perplexed by systems that had pump>rad>gpu's>rad>res like seen .

I had planned to use the lower cutouts for draining but this definitely seems the route to take, thanks.
