Antec TP New 550, How Many Fans ?

Thread Starter
Hi,

I have a phantom case and I was thinking about buying the Antec TP New 550w PSu, and i wanted to know whether i will be able to connect all my case fans, the Phantom case comes with 4 fans preinstalled and option for 3 more to be installed.

I have also bought the Sentry LX fan controller, will the 550w allow me to connect all 7 of my fans, i might add here that my mobo only supports 3 fans

Really confused here, should i go for the 550w unit or the 650w unit which has more fan connectors than the 550w one ?

What are your intended computer build system specifications? generally speaking a 550~650w PSU is more than ample to power mainstream PC's

Fan connectors, wha?

Well most 3-pin to molex converters are 2-way, in that they plug in to a molex, while allowing another moelx to be daisy chained off them. If you do not have those, you can buy them for like $1 max. Certainly not worth the extra cost of getting a larger PSU just so you can get more molex connectors.

That's what I'm referring to btw, 89¢, pretty good deal.

Fans consume next to nothing unless you're using loads of 120mm 3000RPM+ ones at full pelt. Whats the rest of your build?
