If your sound card or amp has two outputs, sure. For example, my Dac has both a high and a low out for headphones.

If you already have a decent sound card, you might be able to get an amp and plug that into the line out, and use the normal headphone jack for the AKG (I'm sure you'd want the 600ohms on the amp)

What sound card do you have? Just the one that come with the motherboard?

If that's what you want to do, you can try buying a headphone splitter... the headphones are different ohm ratings so one will be loader then the other... and I don't know if the DT880 will get loud enough.

If your amp lets you plug two headphones in, then it can probably drive two headphones fine.

and im not sure should i upgrade the DX to STX etc.....
or i should keep the DX and get another DAC + amp for the DX which 1 having better sound quality?
thinking the combination.. im so headache

How many outputs are there?
how many speakers can you plug in?
why do you think it would be different for headphones than speakers?

Typically if a sound card or DAC has two headphone outs, one is for lower gain and the other is for higher gain. If you're using 600 ohm DT880s and AKGs which are arguably one of the hardest headphones to drive and really demand a good stand alone amplifier..then I wouldn't suggest you place either in the low gain headphone jack.

As to whether you can drive 2 600 ohm headphones with a splitter that are 600 ohm each, I don't know. I'm inclined to think not, but I wouldn't know so I won't tell you no.

if i use spliter for 2 600ohms headphone doesn't it mean the amp need a 1200ohms power to drive them ?
and if 1 sound card possible to use 2 amp ?? LOL OMG IS GETTING MORE AND MORE COMPLICATED!! just wanna use 2 headphone for wtching movies

Well, a stereo Y-splitter works in parallel which means voltage drops across the two headphones will be the same. If you drive two headphones of 600 ohms each, then the voltage source (in this case, your sound card) sees only 300 ohms(R_parallel = R1*R2/(R1+R2)). If this is the case, then it should output twice the amperage but most sound cards will probably be way too overloaded before it gets to that point and will most likely cause distortion and clipping.

I'll have a more in-depth description later. Gotta go to a meeting
