Entry Level Gamer - Page 2

Since you're gonna be gaming at 1920x1080, it makes sense to get high-end components. This is the best I could make for $900:

Lite-On DVD+RW Drive: $21

LIAN Li Lancool PC-K58W Case: $70

Samung Spinpoint F3 1TB: $65

MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti TwinFrozr II: $245

Antec TruePower New 650W: $80

G.Skill 4GB DDR3 1600MHz 1.5V: $48

Intel Core i5 2500K + MSI P67A-G43 Motherboard: $330

Subtotal: $859
Total: $864

With this you'll be able to play pretty much any game at max. settings (except a very poorly coded one *cough* Metro 2033 *cough*) and have a PC that's good for anything from video encoding to 3D rendering. The motherboard will let you OC the CPU to 4.5GHz and beyond and has tons of features. The PSU and motherboard will handle a GTX 560 SLI should you want to in the future and even while OCed heavily. The case is pretty amazing, too.

Good luck with the build.

I'm looking to build a similar kind of budget gaming pc and just speced this out. Would appreciate feedback.

Intel f2500 - $180 + tax @ microcenter

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 - $90 with coupon code

COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 + 650W Power Supply - $80

MSI N460GTX Hawk GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi)
MSI P67A-G43 (Graphics card + Mobo combo)
- $280

Spinpoint 1Tb - $60

Total: $700 (optional Dvd drive + $20)
(Mail-in rebates are $50 of total price)

I would love to cut the price down even more if possible, but these component seem pretty balanced in terms of power. Let me know if you guys have any ideas.
