It quite warm. Your water temp seems high also. . . Got decent fans on your radiator? 240rad? Might be pushing your radiator dissipation limits. . .?

I run 4.2 at 72 degrees last time I checked, cpu only loop.

If you lapped the block fully assembled then you've probably lapped the 'bow' out of it. If you're going to lap a block that normally has a bow in it that's created by the o ring then it's best to disassemble it and lap the baseplate only.

It seems to have the bow still?

I put the block upside down under a glasstable with a droplet of water in the center, first the center got wet, but when I pushed abit harder, it started to form a larger contact area spread evenly towards the edges.

Perhaps the tim has not fully cured? Since I get better and better results.

Ok, I might have cheated, as I put the heatpump to a lower temperature, so ambient is 21.8c now

I probably have to go over the lap or the mounting if it's not ideal.

I'm going to bed now, so I see you guys tomorrow

This!
Unless the surface block got damaged, there was no reason to lap it. I can only imagine it would degrade its performance.

I have a 930 @ 4.2 with my 5970 temps are mid 60's. AS5 can take 200+ hrs cure. I used AS5 on my rig it took almost 10 days running full blast for it to sure for me temps dropped by 2-5c though d'.'d. Oh an my ambients are 23-24 c.

Lapping is not necessary most of the time. If you are desperate for a solution you can try it.
