Help with jet fighter pc!

I'm new here so first off hi all!

Wondering if anyone can give me some advise I've just bought a new system and its very loud while gaming.

Spec is
AMD Phenom2 x6 1055T @2.80GHZ
4GB RAM
GIGABYTE M68MT-S2 Motherboard
MSI 460GTX SE GPU
Windows 7 64

The system seems quiet while normal use but while gaming (metro 2033 full setttings) after about 10mins it gets very loud indeed! I took the side off the case while in game and it got much quieter within 2 seconds, then when I put the case side back on the fans kick in within 2 seconds again and get very bad. I can't work out which fan is being loud (I'm new to pc gaming!!).
Could it be my psu using too much power? Its only a standard 430W power supply and my graphics card needs two external power inputs?

Any help would be appreciated guys, cheers.

What case are you using?

Which PSU?

Also, the stock X6 cooler is very noisy under load. Something like an H50/H70 is much more quiet.

What cooler are you using? Most stock coolers run PWM fans so that they will increase RPM as the temps increase therefore getting louder. When you take your sidepanel off it is allowing a lot more air to get into the case therefore temps drop and the fan RPMs drop. It's going to be the fan on your heat sink that is making the noise. The other option is the GPU fan... Those get incredibly loud when they get up there. If you have MSI Afterburner you can set up custom fan profiles for it. The GPU fan is the same as a PWM fan in that as temperatures go up the fan speed goes up resulting in more noise.

Please answer the following questions:
- What is your CPU cooler?
- Are you using a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner?
- Do you have any temperature monitoring software running during gaming?
- If so when your temps start to get higher is that when it gets louder?

PWM is a type of fan that connects directly to your motherboard. It increases and decreases its RPMs depending on the CPU temperature. But please like I said before:
Please answer the following questions:
- What is your CPU cooler?
- Are you using a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner for your GPU?
- Do you have any temperature monitoring software running during gaming?
- If so when your temps start to get higher is that when it gets louder?

[Edit]:
You have the cyclone cooler on the GTX 460 correct?

Does the case have a fan in the fan hole on the side, or is it empty?

Are you using the Cooler that came in the same box as your CPU?

Not sure cpu cooler, how do I find out, it doesn't have any logo on the actual cpu fan inside.

not using any profile, wouldn't know how! just stuck the card in and installed latest driver. The card has a cyclone IGD5 if that helps

Ive just downloaded speed fan and the cards temp was saying 50-55 degs c which I thought seemed actually low rather than high. The noise is pretty bad all the time unless I take the side off.
