What is internal memory of tablets?

There are different terminologies used by manufacturers to describe the specs of their tablets. Some say they have internal memory while others say they have RAM. Some have hard disk space like the Archos 70.

So what is the difference between the three? Is internal memory the same sa RAM or is it the disk space? Please help, I'm getting confused with all these specs. Thanks.

Do you have some tablets in mind? If you do, let us know so we can help interpret those specs.

With the eee transformer, the specs memory as 1gb and storage as 16 or 32gb. In this case the storage is the disk space and memory the ram.

Hi lsudvm,

I'm looking at the Archos 70. On its product page, it says it has 8GB of flash memory and 250GB of disk space. It doesn't state any form of RAM. But when I went to Amazon, I read from reviews that it has only 256kb of RAM.

What's the 8GB of flash memory? Is this some form of storage other than the 250GB of hard disk space?
