40+ points for OCN in 48hrs :D

Thread Starter
Back in the days all I submitted was a pcmark05 score with my old Q6600 rig, since then I made no submissions as I completely forgot I had a hwbot account, so I thought why not try and post a few submissions with my new rig. Unfortunatly it's on my main os, so I have a lotta junk on these drives, however, I will update these once I get myself a stripped os which should help my scores a bit more.

Anyways managed to get around 40 points or so in the first 48 hours and I think thats not bad at all .

I still have a few bench's to run, wprime 1m/32m and pifast, suggestions on to how to run those to get the best results would be appreciated

Hope that my contribution has helped so far, thanks

EDIT: Forgot to mention but a special thanks goes out ftw 420 who helped me out with those bench's that I did.

thanks guys

I'v still got wprime and pifast to run. Are those multithreaded? Just wondering what is the best way to run these? same as the superi but set affinity to all cores?

Thanks

Not very good at pifast but I know its not multi threaded. Wprime prolly the hardest cpu test as far as heat goes. It is heavily multi threaded. For best results run in xp 32bit and you have to go to advanced settings and set thread count to 8 even if your real thread count is 4. If you decide to bench in xp make sure to go to control panel then system settings then advanced settings and set cpu priority to system cache. Also run command msconfig and boot safe mode or selective start up to kill all un needed process. ANd last but not least run a few times in a row for best results.

Thanks for the info, however (+rep), at the moment im on x64 win 7 and I can't find my windows xp oem cd. Thread count to 8? I will be running these bench's in diagnostic mode, so other than setting affinity to all cores and running realtime is there anything I else I should consider?

Pifast is single threaded, don't really know of any tweaks besides raw cpu speed for that one. You would have to try out the double actual thread count in wprime, I haven't tried that on sandy bridge but didn't really make a difference for me in x58.
Having an extra HDD or partition for xp 32 will come in handy, just does better in most 2d benchies, although looking at your superpi scores you are doing great with getting win 7 tweaked.

thanks, I'll have a go pifast and wprime tonight.

Btw im still behind you on superpi 1m by 0.20 and 32m by less than 1sec

Once I get xp 32bit installed I shall do some more bench's
