Verizon Dual Core Android Phones. Where Are They?

Like the title says, where the hell are they!

The Droid Bionic was supposed to be out already and I might have gotten it (even though I was less than pleased with the quantity of RAM) but it's been delayed again or canceled.

The Samsung Galaxy SII looks AMAZING and is supposed to launch for the other countries this month I think, but no ETA for the US yet?

Could someone fill me in on what Verizon will have to offer over the next few months in terms of dual core, large screen android devices?
I've been waiting for these to come out so I can get a nice phone. I really want to have this by summer for my job..

Motorola says the Bionic is undergoing further tweaks in hardware, so expect a delay in its release up to the end of summer. I'm guessing they will somehow enable support for the Atrix 4G's plethora of accessories, or maybe upgrade the RAM to 1GB instead of 512MB. We could also see Gingerbread shipping with the device.

That's what I had read, and that would be great. I just don't want to wait until the END of summer

Well, it pays to wait for the good stuff. I suffered using an old Moto Cliq just to upgrade to an Inspire 4G/Desire HD this month. Just wait out for the Bionic, or maybe the Samsung Droid Charge will release earlier - you should look into that device as well.

BTW, Droid campaigns will go in full swing again! Remember the awesomeness of Verizon's Droid ads with the Droid, Droid X and Droid Incredible? You'll be hearing the famous Drrroooiiidd sound once more.

I'm getting sick of Verizon and phone manufacturers these days.

I had been waiting for almost 2 years to replace my Touch Pro2 with a slider QWERTY android device and Verizon hasn't had a decent one out since the original DROID.

Thankfully, OG Droids can be found used on the cheap, so I just swapped my TP2 for an overclocked Droid. SOOOO much better and I think I'll be satisfied with this phone until 4G matures and Verizon releases some decent QWERTY, dual-core, android phones.

to manny and kidwolf,

so you guys just got yourself original Droids off eBay? What's a good price for that? I'm thinking about doing the same. I have my upgrade next month but am thinking about just holding on to it for the same reason, get an older one instead for now.

Hey eleanor,

I actually used a website called swappa.com to buy my OG droid.

I got a mint condition droid rooted and overclocked with all original accessories plus 5 cases and screen protector for $105 shipped. That was one of the best deals I had seen on the device so I jumped on it!

Anywhere around $110 for a good-excellent condition droid 1 is going to be a good deal and I would start at swappa if I were you. eBay was actually more expensive and more of a PITA to search than swappa for this transaction.

A hundred bucks for a Droid! :O

I paid roughly the same for the HTC Desire HD, but that's by renewing my contract with AT&T. Kinda sad but I'm cool with it. Rooted it as well and placed a 1.2 GHz overclock.

thanks a lot for the info!

Is there anything I need to specifically look for when buying an Android phone used? I mean are there some that I won't be able to switch to my "active" phone for my Verizon plan and add a data plan?

Thanks so much!
