AMD 32 Cores Bulldozer (8 cores x 4) @ 1.8ghz Cinebench results (PCINLIFE forums) - Page 12

I'm just hoping AM3+ boards will have about the same price as the current AM3 ones, then I'm happy. I don't really care too much though, other than would make Intel dump their ridiculous mobo prices. Not accounting for SB, as it is mid-end.

But yeah, as long as BD has the performance level of SB, I'm sold.

Yes but when comparing the SB at 4Ghz to the BD chip we'd first need to know how the BD 8 core chip is being boosted.

I can already tell you even if its not boosting the i5-2500k is faster than the 4 core bulldozer cpu and at that point so is the i7-2600k. BD uses a form of HT too, so the point of threads is moot anymore.

No, when compared to a 4GHz 4 core BD cpu assuming 4Gz and assuming the 1.8GHz bulldozer chip is not turbo boosting.

Why do you attempt to talk?

Don't really think (or hope) anyone believs in you with that picture and a 2500k.

You're a fanboy that never knows when to stop lying.

Keep dreaming bro, BD may burn your SB into dust.

Looks like we have a new performance king. Expect it to be priced like one due to simple economics.
But to be fair, the 980x is also 32nm, so we're expecting them to overclock similarly.

Pricing... not necessarily, the newest Intel LGA1155 mainstream generation is often equalling or trouncing the 980X
I expect it to be priced competitively or equally with the LGA1155 platform

What I don't understand is if it will stand nicely against LGA1155 or whatever, why they don't release a variant with more cores to fight LGA2011
Unless it will also fight LGA2011 very effectively wheee.gif

You didn't specify in the first place,so no need to be condescending.
Mathematical assumptions don't even include BD's version of HT.

QFT, because bella is pulling number out of his ass. Someone's angry that BD will be faster than their precious $1,500 SB system.

12.6 / 2 = 6.3 assuming 4 cores.

Is that really hard?

What else could I possibly have been talking about with 12/2 Heavy?

I stated it, you just didn't comprehend it.
