Does the ram heatsink really matter, cause if i take that out i may be able to fit the d14?

Look at the Noctua site. If I was at home I'd give you the link. But Noctua.at will give you a list of compatible and incompatible RAM.

There are generic RAM heatsinks you can buy to replace your unnnecessarily tall RAM heatsinks.

Regarding the RAM, my Corsair Dominators don't fit if they still have their heatspreaders/fins on them. Once I removed the fins though the RAM fit without a problem, so unless you're running some super tall RAM with un-removable fins you should be okay.

Edit - saw the images above. Those could pose a problem, but you could move the fans on the D14 up higher to help clear the RAM. That tactic might work for ya.
+1. heres 44mm clearance under the D14. I had to take the top fins of my Dom GTs to make fit.
