LOL at least you live in Canada (wow I never thought I'd say that, no offense). Even when our govt is upfront about what they are spending our money on its still ****ty lol. If only I loved the cold weather....you know the colder it gets the more atheistic societies seem to be lol. Maybe its too cold to believe in gods in Sweden/Canada/Russia etc. Not that religious societies are bad...I'm not saying that...lol crap im backpedaling like crazy now....

I am not going to upgrade my GPU's until I start to see some games come out that will challenge them. I dont think it will be worth it to upgrade until a new counsel comes out. We all saw crysis 2. It was a counsel port, we all know that most games depend on counsel's. So why waist that money?

I hope you know NVIDIA AND ATI ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!! They are in the money making business and would like to keep it that way. Our graphics cards and games could be better then they are, we have the technology. But its about money and slowly upgrading you so the co. can make the most money. Dont fall for that trick.

So would some one please explain to me why you bought that new 400 or 500 card? Did you want to be trendy? Or just like being able to say my gpu is bigger then yours.

Its called a hobby, people have different ones. Why spend money on getting that new set of heads for your car when next year there will be ones slightly better, why bother getting that lift kit when there will be a liftier one in a few years? BECAUSE ITS A FLIPPIN HOBBY!!

I don't think he fully understands the subjectivity of value. He just thinks bang for the buck is all that matters. From his "bang for the buck" perspective, his conclusions make perfect sense.

@ op, I meant. Raw power from older generation doesn't match the new tech from newer cards. dx11 aside, there are plenty of other feature to savor: 3d surround, eyefinity, etc...

I had a perfectly decent overclocked C2D Gaming rig with 5870 that could play any game on high settings but I still went out and built a AMD rig and put 2 6950's, an SSD, RAID 5 array, some fancy lights and sleeved cables for no other reason than I hadn't owned a AMD rig for a couple years and I wanted to have a play with one.

some of us go on regular upgrade cycles. my cycle happens every time a new crysis is released. crysis 1 > had GTS 250 SLI. crysis 2 > have GTX 460 SLI. crysis 3 > will get GTX 770 SLI ?

anyway, some people just has too old of a graphics card, so they upgrade to the latest series. (like from an 8800 GT to a GTX 560 Ti) it's just the people who upgrade every series that are ridiculous. (like moving from 400 to 500 series) but hey it's their money and if they want to get the best GPU in the world i say go ahead. after all not many of us can afford it and maybe it's their way to enjoy life idk

^guy above me: worried that that slow tricore will bottleneck ur 6950s
