I am now concerned about this. Could someone detail me a little bit more or provide me with a picture? I am buying either of these graphics cards and plan on going dual SLI later and the only PCI slot I would need is for a sound-card perhaps. I want a GREAT graphics card so I'm sure it's not a big deal but I would just like a little more info. before I purchase in-case of future problems. Thanks.

EDIT: I just realized that the more I speak about building this the more if feels really comfortable and sounds like fun.

DirectCU II takes up 3 expansion slots.
This will not be a problem on the Deluxe because it has triple spacing between the first and second PCIEx16 slots.

You could do dual SLI with two of those 580's (Blue and White lanes) and still have a PCIEx1 slot (top lane) available for a sound card.

IMHO, SLI 580's are over the top overkill for a single 1080P monitor.
You should only consider SLI if you will be using SD surround with 3 monitors.

I personally wouldnt go so expensive on the case and instead buy a second HDD with the difference. That hdd is fast and all but its only 64 gb im guessing its going to be used to install all your games on it correct?

This. I've decided on the ASUS GTX580. The triple PCI slots don't bother me. It has generally received more positive reviews than the MSI card. I heard a couple of negaitive things about the MSI ones breaking. The warranty is better on the ASUS model and the price is cheaper as well.
Single cards are more stable than dual cards anyway. But, with this higher watt PSU, I will have SLI as an option in the future.

I was also looking at the ASUS ENGTX570 DCII and thinking maybe going SLI with these ($200 more) but, as you are saying, that 580 is probably all I need for my single monitor/TV (which I plan on keeping BTW. I love it and have a 4 year warranty. ).

I was thinking that if I am to go single 580 or dual 570 I could perhaps buy a lesser PSU and save money but there is no cheaper deal than those combos, even if I get a 750W AX (trust me, I added it up. ).

Yep. I did research and despite MANY people saying it cannot (and the D14 can, blah!), these pictures prove otherwise.

Hell no! After reading about the potential problem with the Silver Arrow/Heat Spreaders, I need a big case. The only problem that can happen from raising the cooler high enough to clear the ram is having too small a case. Would hate to buy all this and be screwed. What's the point of spending all that money and your system is ****ed?

Anyway...

I am getting the ASUS GTX 580 (see above). I've also changed the CD/DVD drive to an ASUS. That one seems to be the most reliable and fastest though I gotta pay shipping. I've also changed the SSD to the new Crucial M4. I didn't even know they were out! It's the same price as the C300 64GB and apparently is faster than two 256GBs C300s on Raid 0!

Thank you again to everyone who has posted on here and has helped me. I appreciate it.
I will let you know when I order or if any questions should pop-up. Thanks!

PS: I couldn't help laugh at this odd translation about graphic cards...

So, yeah, the P8P67 Deluxe and G-Skill Ripjaw is void; Ripjaw sold out...Didn't really get enough time to make a decision. I can't rush into things like that even with all of you're wonderful suggestions.

I checked my email (it's now on the website) for 15% off any ram ending tonight. I looked at all of them including a lot of bundles with with ram...

I decided to go with G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR.
It was on sale $99.99 to $69.99 and with the discount it came to $59.99; $10 cheaper than the Ripjaws. They do have heat spreaders but they're pretty small. I actually never liked the heat spreaders on that Ripjaws. I don't like heat spreaders. Though my fan would have clearance...it looks like it could be a pain in the ass. I mean, it is touching or barely touching. I don't think that's good in any way. I know this is my first time buying ram but I think I prefer low profiles. Nothing wrong with that. In-fact, I had been looking at Mushkin ram because of this issue. Also, the Sniper does look a lot better than the cartoon blue. Hah!

The Cas Latency is 9 on these and the Timing is 9-9-9-24. The speed is the same; 12800. So a little behind the Ripjaws but more reviews on Newegg. Very positive. I read in the reviews they can overclock to 1866MHz or even 1950 Mhz apparently and the Cas might be able to be brought down to 7. I also read that the Ripjaws were limited to 1866 because of the SandyBridge. I don't what to make of it. I also looked at a Patriot ram with no heat spreader, same stats as the Snipers, more money, and another more expansive kind just like the Ripjaws on sale which, with the discount and rebate, would have been the same price as the Ripjaws. But Patriot is not so popular I don't think (they break a lot) and the Snipers are going crazy so I'm happy with my decision.

I also decided to go with the HAF X Nvida addition after all. I know the HAF X is "xexy" in a tough female bodybuilder sort of way, but I wanted something to look alieny, like an Alienware comp. I'm gonna put purple lights and white flashing lights inside the window and purple fans. I wanna make it looked ****ed up, like an UFO crash, and put a green PS3 or XBOX Controller with it. I just LOVE (looking at you, PowerTrip ) the green window. Maybe I'll even draw an alien on the windowless side. Green is NOT my favorite color but I've warmed up to this. I stand along out there with other nutters who bought this in the HAF thread. The Phantom owners and can have their sexy white and the HAF Black owners can be Duke Nukem; I will stay in the corner and be "odd."

Since the Snipers were not part of the bundle (another more expansive kind were) I bundled the HAF X with the Deluxe. Overall the price was $1466.60. Pretty good. I'm not sure if it is cheaper than before or what...maybe. Now I gotta order my SSD, my cooler, and a gaming mouse and keyboard.

I need to sleep. Thank you for reading my rant. I type too much. *fart*

If I run into problems with the build I will update you. If you see my name on the latest reply it means it's serious so please check it out, OK? Good night.
