External or internal better?

Thread Starter
I need more space. Should i get an external drive or an internal. Its mostly used to back up stuff before a reformat or for pictures.

The way I usually do things is this.

Internal: Steam games, programs, etc.

SSD: Windows and some programs you want.

External: Music, Movies, Documents, etc.

Thats completly up to you. Some like the flexability of an external as its more portable, and can fit in most safes. While i on the other hand dont like the extra cords and dont mind living life on the edge, hence i have 2 additional drives.

Generally, usb is a tad slower then sata so it depends on how much data.

External if you use more than one pc to watch movies, play music, transfer files etc.I use an external for this reason.

Internal if you only have one main pc,or do a lot a file transfering/swapping between internal drives. The faster speeds show up here.I have several internals for this reason.
