thanks all for the help, i ended up just using the molex adapters till i can save some more money and get a fan controller

GT AP-15's run at 0.083 A but start up current is 0.36 A, datasheet here : http://catalog.nidec-servo.com/digit...pdf/D1225C.pdf. 1.6 A per channel might be a bit too little for six of those fans.

you can get a 30w rheosmart controller, 2.5 amps or about ~0.41 amps per fan
