Is my CPU Dead!?

Guys, I need some help.

An hour ago when I was browsing, my computer monitor just went BLACK.

I left it for about 5 minutes if it would resolve itself but it didn't.

So, i tried mashing my keyboard, moving and clicking my mouse and repeatedly pressing CTRL ALT DEL but to no avail.

Then, I tried to restart my PC via the front case's restart button. It didn't work

Tried to turn off the PC by holding the Power Button by more than 10 seconds. Didn't work as well.

And then, I just manually reseted it by using the power supply's I/O (power?) switch. Finally, it turned off.

Then I restarted the PC. I just got a message on my screen "No Display input" or what not.

No POST, no HDD activity (scratching noises). ...

[UPDATED:]

BUT BUT BUT I hear the HDD Spin up!
All the fans of my case are running
The video card's fan is running
etc.

i tried changing the HDMI cable to a DVI, trying out different mini display port outputs from my card. Still nothing.

I even swapped HDD (The only HDD connected at the time of this incident was the Maxtor). Nada..

Please help.. huhuhu..

BTW: a previous history happening within 3 days ago:

ALSO: The only way to turn off my PC now is to turn the switch from the PSU off.. the Reset and Power Button in front of the case no longer works.. (as mentioned)

PC sometimes turns off randomly, USB ports not functioning (can't use my usb optical mouse and doesn't detect any usb stuff i plug into until I reset it again).

Ruh oh
Possibly a PSU issue, but considering that a whole bunch of other places aren't really working (i.e. USB ports), it might be the motherboard (also?)

I just just gonna say PSU or more then likely motherboard. The CPU wouldn't go bad unless it got severely overvolted or overheated. Did you work on it prior to this and maybe discharged some static to any of the components?

Yaouch

Double trouble already? Hmm..

The USB ports "always" works.. except when a the PC sometimes restarts itself.. boots back to windows, and then the USB ports would stop working.. I restart the PC again (via PS2 Keyboard that I have been using with the system since forever).. then works great as usual..

Hmm..

Yes I did.. about a week ago.. I opened up the case, disconnected my SeaGate HDD so I only boot on my Maxtor HDD.. This has been happening since then.. (PSU switch off but still connected to the wall socket for Grounding purpose [Power cable still has that extra PRONG for grounding I think])

But I always touch the metal parts of the case with both hands before doing anything.. and always touch it every few seconds Aww maaaann

Also, the "Butt" of my case is in front of my right leg always and that's where a bunch of wires are usually at.. there are times that I may have been accidentally moving them about.. (PSU power cord, GPU power cord, etc).

Hmmm..

I think it may be the PSU,do you have another PSU you can test with?

It's really hard to say exactly what it is until you actually start testing things individually. Try a spare mobo, if you have one, first. Then spare PSU, etc. etc.

At first thought, I'm leaning towards a mobo issue though.

I don't have any spare stuff.. only spare Nvidia 6200 LE video card

Anything I can do first?

Also, what just happened? I saw some PSU prices jumped up!? Waaaaaa! Last time I checked Antec 750 Watt BLUE is just 89-99 USD.. Hmm

Hi,
I think it's the mobo, it seems that the V1 doesn't support cpu with more than 95w tdp, and the tdp of the your's is 140w. MSI released a V2 that resolves the probleme.

Edit : wrong mobo, thought it was the MSI K9A2 CF, sorry

LOL thanks but I don't think that's the problem.. This system was pretty fine for almost 3 years now xD plus the CPU Phenom 9950 BE is officially supported since I bought the MoBo almost 3 years ago

Thanks for the input though
