[HS] Corsair Obsidian Series 650D Case Review

The Corsair Obsidian 650D is a high-end mid-tower case. The main problem is its price. It is a very nice case, but we think that, for the average user, there are other options on the market with better cost/benefit ratios – including the Corsair Graphite Series 600T.

They should have included a sample build in that review.

Interesting that the 650D is only a few dollars more expensive than the 600T in Australia smile.gif

$200 USD for a steel case, Lol no way. What are they thinking? There are far better options for less $$$.

Clearly not a value proposition. If you want value look at CM or Lancool, this case is not it.

Keep in mind however, there are a good amount of deals on Corsair cases. I remember picking up the 800D for $200 shipped a few months after it launched.

I do not think the 200 price tag will stay long, I got mine PM'd for 150 CAD. If you are tight on space check the sizes, they are a bit bigger than a standard mid tower. 21.5" L X 9" W X 20.5" H.

Funny thing about this case is that the front panel USB 3.0 ports do not plug into the MB, you route them out the back of the case (there is a hole that works for this) and into the I/O back plate. Seemed funny when putting it together, but once you plug in everything else, you do not even notice it. Guess this will give a lot more USB 3.0 support for boards that do not have them integrated.

Really like this case though. The cable management speaks for itself just from the photos. Hot swap SATA bay and external fan speed controller are nice to have and the case parts come apart fast with no tools/screws needed.
