The first console to ship with 3D support that doesn't require glasses will be purchased by me, immediately.

Well, I guess a special screen would still be needed, so maybe this isn't possible yet.
Isn't stereoscopic 3D the one that requires blue/red glasses? No matter what with that method you would require glasses I believe...

Reminds me of when I used to play Crystal Chronicles with my friends. We hooked up GBAs to use as controllers and used the screens on the GBAs for inventory control. Not a cheap game for multiplayer lol.

"BRING BACK THAT CHALICE, YOU BASTARD!"

Ah, the fond memories.

The red/blue 3D is called "Anaglyphic 3D" not to be confused with other 3D technology's like polarized, active stutter, etc. What all of the different 3D technology's have in common is there all trying to create a 3D stereoscopic effect, they just do it differently, some better than others.

Anaglyph images are used to provide a stereoscopic 3D effect, when viewed with glasses where the two lenses are different (usually chromatically opposite) colors, such as red and cyan. Images are made up of two color layers, superimposed, but offset with respect to each other to produce a depth effect. Usually the main subject is in the center, while the foreground and background are shifted laterally in opposite directions. The picture contains two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the "color coded" "anaglyph glasses", they reveal an integrated stereoscopic image. The visual cortex of the brain fuses this into perception of a three dimensional scene or composition.
