WD warranty are the best experience for me. I RMAd a 1TB and 1.5TB drive at different times. They shipped back a 2TB drive both times.

If the guy wanted to mark the drive, why couldnt have he used some tape and wrote on that? The guy is at fault here to me, not Toshiba.

Seriously though, you have to admit, you can't beat WD in this dept. If you have a green/blue, they usually return a black to you that is usually bigger. Even out of warranty.
This ^^ Plus WD drives are so reliable that you don't actually have to RMA them as oftem as you have to with other drives (:

You have a lot to learn then.. cause this is true in every business warranty practice. They have a right to refuse service if you attempt repairs yourself or have an unauthorized person attempt repairs first.

I have, but that may be because I was dealing with Dells that carried the Dell Gremlin. I would totally believe that. I haven't dealt with one on a quality PC yet.

but the OP is not discussing the cost of it, they are discussing the fact that they want paid for the repair rather than a freebie warranty instead for a failed repair attempt.

If you went to all the trouble to have someone work on the machine then why not just purchase a new drive yourself and have him install it... less hassle and less time waiting for warranty service.

Then explain why every WD drive I've owned or seen a friend own has died within a year or 2.

Um, I hope there's more to this story.

>open laptop cause it's not working
>oh the hard drive is dead
>better write faulty on it so toshiba knows where the problem is xD
>implying toshiba doesn't go through thousands of laptops and knows dang well how to figure out if the HARD DRIVE is dead

Chris, you gone full retard.
