Hey guys, I am about to place an order at Tankguys, only thing that worries me is the shipping, how can the one highlighted in blue take only one day to ship, is there a missing 0 or something after the 1? Or does it take only 1 day to ship? Because after you pay like $14 for a 3 day shipping as opposed to the $9 one day shipping.

Yeah that must be a typo or something, 1 day shipping is not that cheap. Ground shipping shouldn't be more then 5-7 days however.

Hi.

Probably not an issue. The items may be shipping from different locations, and that items FOB is geographically closer to you than the others.

PM answered, but for anyone else curious:

The shipping times/prices are origin/destination based. We're located in MI, so ground shipping to Illinois would arrive within a day. It just so happens that it's not only the fastest, but also the cheapest in this case

The BIG caveat is that the ground shipping times are NOT FedEx guaranteed. Furthermore, it assumes the package does indeed ship from us in MI. We have a lot of products drop shipped from other warehouses around the country, so those shipping times could be more or less than what is quoted. 3 Day saver, 2nd day air, and overnight would always take the advertised number of days, however. Hope that clears things up!

to back up my fellow Mi bud Tankguys, I ship to a customer in Columbus, OH

fed ex 2day costs about 3x as much as Ground, yet ground gets there in two days

Depends on location of shipper and recipient

Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are almost always 1 day.

Get much further out, and it takes 2 or more. Oddly enough, however, I notice our shipments to New Jersey and New York sometimes only take 1 day, but not always.

LOL...same here.

I am pretty sure that it has to do with port states.

Most goods shipped overseas have to reach a port first, IE NY or NJ

They will put the shipments on trucks loaded going out...get there faster

Now here is the trick, I have shipments coming back from the East coast, so I call trucking companies and get a "backhaul" rate

means: they dont want to come back empty, so I get rates that are amazing.

All they do is cover fuel, time and pretty much thats it.

Works with moving companies also...since everyone is moving out of Michigan
