I guarantee you that the DDR3 versions will be a lot better at overclocking and stability. However, a P35 board is still going to be great. (Just like there was a 975X and P965 Chipset that ran together for a long time.)

Sorry, I didn't notice were I was posting, lol.

And, I'm sure you can still get them, just pre-order them from tankguys.

thats where my vote goes as well.

MOST of the people jumping on the Q6600 bandwagon are gonna be hovering over their mouses just waiting for the second that newegg drops the price from ~$500 to ~$270-$280 (depending on how much of the market that they wanna suck in). there are ALOT of people that want to get the cheap quads, so they're gonna run out of the old stepping pretty quickly id assume. id say it takes 1-2 weeks until intel gets rid of the rest of the old steppings and starts shipping the new steppings, in which case TankGuys confirms the G0 on their shipment and ships.

worst case scenario: iranian terrorists raid the intel warehouse, furious that their xtreme fata1ity gamer rigs are getting too high temp readings and arent able to play stableCS:S for their training, and destroy all remaining quad chips, thus leaving a new generation of quad gaming to be desired in another few months

Believe it or not, Intel likely has a month or two supply of Q6600. That is what the price cut is for... to get those Q6600 out of stock for the die shrinkage and Penryn roll out. There will likely be B2 stepping floating around well into Q4. That is why this is such a good deal. TankGuys is the only place guranteeing G0 steppings. With every other e-tailer, it is hit or miss.

Check the OP, I've attached a text file with all the current orders - so now anyone wondering what their spot in line is can easily check

I likely won't have time to update it every day, but I'll do so as often as I can.

Oh, and we don't have a clue how many will arrive in the first shipment(s). Obviously, we're going to try and get more than enough to cover all orders, but we'll see what happens!

I hope it doesn't take that long either - it's still up in the air though.
