Default Q9450/E8400/E3110 OEM In Stock

E8500 RETAIL UPDATE - 4/23/2008

Retail E8500's should be arriving late this week or early next. Those of you with pre-orders should complete payment ASAP by purchasing the item below:

http://www.tankguys.com/product_info...oducts_id=1810

Q9450 RETAIL UPDATE - 3/28/2008

Retail versions of this chip will be trickling in over the next week or so. Anyone with existing pre-orders will need to finalize payment, purchase this item:

http://www.tankguys.com/product_info...oducts_id=1821

Note your original order number when you finalize payment. Please note, once the chips arrive, we'll ship to any paid pre-orders, and the rest will be sold on the open market - no chip will be held for you unless you've paid

E8400 / E3100 / Q9450 UPDATE - 3/25/2008

Finally, the shipment has arrived. It was delayed by two days, but was dropped of early this morning. We will be opening/repacking today/tonight, so orders will ship tomorrow. There are still some of all of these chips available, so feel free to order, even if you don't have an existing pre-order. Pre-order units will ship tomorrow as well, as long as you have completed payment.

Edit: As far as I know, this means we're the first store in the US to have availability on the Q9450. Not too bad

E8400 / Q9450 UPDATE - 3/11/2008

We have word that our processors are allocated and shipping from Malaysia in the next day or two. Current ETA is 2 weeks, and we will update as soon as we have a more firm date. We have OEM/TRAY E8400's and Q9450's on the way, not retail boxed.

All existing pre-order customers for the Q9450 will be covered, if you are willing to opt for an OEM processor. In order to complete your order for this processor, please purchase the following item:

http://www.tankguys.com/product_info...oducts_id=1818

Make sure you select and pay for a shipping option at checkout, even if you did so previously. Anyone who did so originally had that amount refunded, so you will need to pay again.

In your order comments, please note your original order number, so we can easily adjust your existing order.

At this time, we do not have any ETA information for retail boxed units - so it's up to you if you wish to wait for your retail unit, or go for the OEM chip.

Let us know if you have any questions!

E8400 / Q9450 UPDATE - 3/10/2008

We have been allocated processors for sure now, just waiting on shipping confirmation. We will update as soon as we have a projected in stock / reship date!

E8400 / Q9450 UPDATE - 3/5/2008

We got word today that our Intel rep is working to get us some quick allocation of some OEM/TRAY Q9450's and E8400's. We'll update as soon as we have more information!

E8500 / Q9450 UPDATE - 3/3/2008

We still do not have *any* information from Intel yet on shipping dates for these processors. We are working every angle possible, and will update you all as soon as we have information.

E8400 SHIPPING UPDATE - 1/21/2008

All E8400 orders have been packed and set, and will be picked up by FedEx tomorrow. TankGuys finally gets allocation from Intel on / before launch date - let's hope this is a sign of good things to come

E8400 ETA UPDATE - 1/18/2008

E8400's are set to ship out on Monday, or Tuesday morning at the latest. We're set to arrive a reasonable sized allocation (enough to cover all pre-orders, with some extras) Monday. Depending on how early the shipment arrives, we'll be re-packing and reshipping as quickly as possible. If the shipment shows up late in the day, however, orders won't get re-shipped until Tues. morning. Either way, they'll all be out quick.

Orders statuses are being updated with final payment instructions.

Due to popular demand, we will be offering a Wolfdale "Pre-order".

Q9450 - 2.66Ghz, 12Mb L2.
E8500 - 3.16Ghz, 6Mb L2.
E8400 - 3.0Ghz, 6Mb L2.

*Also of note: Remember that pricing you've seen on charts online for these chips is the price paid to Intel, for TRAY/OEM chips, in quantities of 1,000 or more. They are NOT MSRP, and are NOT for retail chips.

Important notes:

1 - The $5 is NON-REFUNDABLE. You will not, however, have to pay for shipping or anything else during checkout.

2 - ETA is still late January / Early Feb, but this is definitely not set in stone.

This thread will be continuously updated with the latest information, as well as replies to common questions.

indeed, plus the price difference from an E8400 to an E8500 is ridiculous for a .5 multi change....

I have a feeling you are very correct. I am keeping my eye on these chips. Though I will be watching the performance differences from the E6750-6850. Thanks for keeping us updated TANKGUYS!!

...it is, yes, but you may not want to order quite yet. Up to you of course - but I haven't really decided how we'll handle the pre-order yet. Orders not won't get billed (you'll be charged at checkout, but we'll void the charge thereafter) so you'll have to pay again prior to shipment - though if you just want to complete payment now, just put a comment that you don't mind being billed now.

The trade off is that your money is held up without a firm ship date yet
