Default Windows 98 Hardware

Hi,
My company uses an old DOS-Based program to keep track of sales, employee hours, and everything else basically. It uses DOS files only found in Windows 98, and Windows 98 can only use a small amount of RAM (256MB?), also it needs older drivers, so older hardware.

Does anyone know where to get this hardware, or if i can?

We currently have 13 Win98 computers laying around that we got on eBay, 6-8 in use as cash registers and databases, and 1 I'm experimenting to see if RAID Works (Waiting to get another HDD).

RAID would be depend if there are are drivers for your OS.... doubtful.

If you're having that much trouble... ever thought about getting new software? You have to do it sometime and what software hasn't been updated in a decade?

Keeping track of sales and employee hours? There's at least a dozen common apps for that.

I don't see why you would use that old software, but rather than hunting old hardware, unless your budget is really tight, I think it'd be better to buy newer hardware and run Win98/DOS in a Virtual Machine. Linux would do for Host OS, so there's no need to pay for licences for new operating system.

Oh and Virtualization is pretty easy - it's not a myriad thing only uber-geeks can do, it's really easy thing these days, so don't worry about that.

We'd have a lot of trouble getting older stuff. Our market is the cutting edge, and even most distributors stop carrying stuff fairly quickly
