Im asking this because ages ago my warfedale 22" HDTV broke within less than 2 years of use, It was used for everything (xbox pc and tv) and i would always turn it off when not in use.

But im sure that monitors last longer because there built diffrently (i think?) currently got a iiyama prolite e2208hds 22" And im not thinking about changing it anytime soon

modern things are built cheap. Long gone are the days or CRT televisions lasting 20+ years.
Now you're lucky if something lasts 5-years.

I will say though, I had a phillips 42" Plasma HDTV from 2004 that my brother is now using. It was $8,500 new (yes, EIGHT-THOUSAND Dollars). Now it has PSU issues and 4 dead pixels.
Lame considering you can get 10+ year old TV's for Free on craigslist without a single issue.
