With all of the great Linux and Unix user that I have recently found on the site I would like to give us a chance to showoff our desktops and show the Windows users that free doesn't mean weak or boring.

On the poll mark your favorite Windows Mangers so other know which to try.....NO FLAME WARS!!!!!

Also, post a screen shot of you linux desktop to show how impressive our windows managers are.

Shown below is my current KDE desktop

Hey Xaimus, are you running Compiz or something similar? I notice that one of your windows is tranparent.

Ever since I tried Xubuntu I fell in love with XFCE. Unfortunately, my laptop hates it and I'm using Gnome at the moment. I will post screenshots when I get home.

there are some nice desktops.. im curious .. i use gnome i see some of you have custom bars.. where can i learn how to do that.. and how to combine the bottom and top bar into one bar for gnome and place it at whatever side i want .. top/bottom and what not .. i will post mine up as soon as i figure out how to take a screen shot and shrink it to a size usable to by the site

To add extra panels you just right click on one of the panels and select New Panel. Then you can add almost whatever you want to it simply by right clicking on it (the panel) and selecting Add to Panel; you can either add one of the applets it gives you by default or create your own launcher. You can also move the panels around and change their sizes.
To take a screenshot go Applications>Accessories>Take Screenshot. The default file type is .png which may be too big to upload into OCN, so just open GIMP (you may need to install it) and change the file extension to .jpg
