Good card, so far

Posted

Pros: Cheap, great price/performance ratio

Cons: Feels cheap

I bought this card to play BF3 since my old 4850 couldn't handle it. This card plays the game at auto settings (1280x1024) at a smooth average of 50-60 fps, which is what I was looking after. It gets up to 70ºC (fan @ 50%) in Furmark, which I consider great considering it does not sport a fancy aftermarket heatsink. I'll keep this card until I can either get a good card for €200 after AMD and nVidia releases their whole 7000/600 product line up. Once thing worth mentioning is that this card only has one six pin PCIe power plug, and the PCB was not clean, there were stains of... something. I've seen the same in my 4850s.

Great paste

Pros: Excellent performance, non-conductive

Cons: A bit thick

First of all: this is a rebrand of Gelid GC-Extreme. I have bought, they have the same specs and perform the same in my systems. There's not much to say about this wonderful TIM, my temps dropped 3ºC from AS5 (lapped Phenom 9950 & lapped TRUE-120), 5º from Arctic Cerámique (Athlon 64 x2 4400+ & XP-120, Non lapped Phenom 9950 140W & TRUE-120), and another 5º from AS5 (Radeon 4850).
